Forgive Me Mum

I have no intention,
To hurt you my dear mum,
But as the situation is,
Please forgive me.

I have a phobia,
A few aspects of fear,
Especially the past revelations,
I have no courage to wait...

My days were spent sniffing,
My hours knew no studies,
But lessons,
Lessons in gambling,
Lessons in powder market,
Lessons in new platforms!

Mum,
Please understand,
I miss what you expect,
Your loans and efforts,
I'm sorry for my zero return,
But I know you'll understand.

I lost a lot Mum,
Confidence and dignity,
Hope and determination,
And your deepest desire,
I pitied formal learning!

Mum,
I'm leaving today,
To a place where I know not,
I'm leaving today,
To keep off your wrath,
I'm leaving today,
For I can't stand to see your disappointment,
I'm leaving today,
To nurse my stupidity alone.

Forgive me Mum,
Examinations release,
Will shed light of my chant,
I have hope you'll understand.

Goodbye mum...

Innocently Guilty

A mistake,
So unfortunate it occurred.

He,
The mole to the big office,
The trustee watch did it.

He drunk from the best cistern,
Had no sieve to break,
Impact so conspicuous,
The head girl's momma bumped in furiously!

Cornered,
Thinnest sweat over threats,
The mole and the high office had to oblige,
And the other crew smiled!

Justice at last,
Telling on paused,
And the face directed to the soil,
Probably mindful of the future!

TALES FROM THE BUSH: SCHOOLING FUN! 1

Attending a day secondary school in Molo takes courage and sacrifice. This is especially a multiple weapons to the students who do not stay in the small town as their homes. Their origin is places at least five kilometres from the town commonly termed as 'Rugongo' literally meaning from the interior parts of the constituency.

A day starts by milking at around five in the morning. Preparation to school and yes, dropping the milk to the retailer.

The cold morning is a busy one for the students. Freezing and working. Rainy season is an excellent tragedy. Yet they concentrate and compete nationally!

The group that fears distance banks on rentals. Cubicles as they call them are joints in the slum-like parts of the town such as Moto,Kanyoni and Casino. The cubicles are affordable as the highest charges not more than Ksh. 350 per month.

Lifestyle in the dens is simplistic. Just a matter of surviving and hardening. Lighting is predominantly tin lamps. Kerosene is used economically,10 bob a day. Food is fairly cheap. Getting a sack of the basics from home. These students on a day that the assignments or the targets are set to be hit, they don't cook. Buying the rejected snacks popularly known as ngumus for half the normal price! This takes them for the entire evening and morning! The only top up is a cup of strong tea!
You can't even think of the neighborhood, all the types of social menace, the drunkards, idlers, alleged prostitutes and the good breed too! Yet they manage to meet the minimum required points to join the campuses!

To be continued....
